Meet The Author

Richard Sinay

Richard Sinay was born in Canton, Ohio, in the late 1940s. When he was twelve years old, his father took a job in Compton, California, and the family moved there in 1960. The 1960s and early 1970s were a time of great upheaval, and throughout that period, he received his education at California secondary and post-secondary schools. During that period, he earned a B.A. and M.A. in English and an M.S. in reading from Cal State University, Fullerton. He also earned a range of credentials, including a standard teaching credential for secondary schools, a community college teaching credential, and an administrative services credential to serve as an administrator in school systems. While a college student, he kept a journal for ten years and found time to write many poems. His work as a teacher at the secondary and community college levels laid the foundation for his books on teaching English at those institutions. He continues to write daily and plans on additional books in the near future.
